2010 Audi S6 Review
2010 Audi S6 shares much of its body, interior, and features with the A6 sedan. For 2010, S6 receives third-generation MMI electronics controller with better graphics and easier navigation operation.
Standard Features
Audi S6 is a high-performance sedan, and it comes in only one well-equipped trim.
The standard equipments in the new S6 include 19-inch wheels, sunroof, LED running lights, rear and front fog lights, powered tilt and telescoping steering column, adaptive xenon headlights, and 8-way power front seats with lumbar adjustment support.
Additionally, heated rear and front seats, leather upholstery, rearview camera, MMI controller, hard-drive-based navigation system with real-time traffic, satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity, and 13-speaker surround-sound system with six-CD changer are also on the offer.
Some of the optional goodies include 18-inch wheels with summer tires, rear side airbags, blind-spot warning system, and non sport seats.
Under the Hood
The all-wheel-drive 2010 Audi S6 is equipped with a 5.2-L V10 engine, which produces 435 horsepower, and 398 pound-feet of torque. The only available transmission in this sedan is a 6-speed automatic with manual shift control.
In performance testing, S6 went from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.7 seconds, which is faster than Audi A6 and slower than Mercedes E63. The estimated EPA fuel economy is 14 mpg in city, 19 mpg on highways, resulting in combined gas mileage of 16 mpg.
The new 2011 S6 comes at MSRP of $76,100, which is fairly high, but when you want simply the best, you'll have to blind-fold yourself in terms of pricing.
The good news is that it's just about $3,000 costlier than the close rival Jaguar XFR, while it turns out to be $10,000 cheaper than its fellow German super sedans.
If you're looking for a luxury-class sedan from Audi with a mind boggling V10, new S6 is definitely the way to go.
