Will differences in the resistance of a charger damage an electronic unit?
I just bought a Navigon 5100 max GPS unit, and it only came with a car charger, with the output being 5V and 1.2A
The charger is a USB A-to-B cable
I understand that amps is the measure of resistance, so would a 1.0A charger, or be detrimental to the unit
1.2A vs 1.0A is just the max current that each charger will source. Assuming both sources put out the same 5 volts it will just take a little longer with the USB charger IF it was drawing at that max current.
Since the GPS probably doesn't even draw 1 amp while charging there would be no difference between either source.
