navigon 2100 traffic signals?
i have a navigon 2100 and i just recently activated the life traffic support. On the upper right corner is a red exclamation mark. I set all the setting to automatic for traffic. Updated the software to 1.2. I still cant pick up any signal. I also plugged in the car charger as well since the antenna is built in the charger. Anyone have come with the same problem???? Please help. I also try to change the signal with the arrows but it wont let me. And the signal on the signal bar is invisible. Please help !!!!
but the thing is this. I traveled 400 miles along the freewway in california. There is no way that there is no signals throughout my whole trip. I contacted navigon and they told me to send the unit and pay another 30 dollars for service fee to take a look at it.
It looks like you are in a metropolitan area that does not have traffic via the traffic Message Channel (TMC). On page 22 of the Navigon 2100 owner’s manual it says that a exclamation point in a red triangle means that “TMC is operational, but cannot find a station that is transmitting TMC signals.” There are 3 Notes about the TMC traffic on that page:
Note: This function is only available if TMC traffic messages are being transmitted in the map area in which you are travelling. Traffic messages are not available in all areas.
Note: The charger cable does not need to be connected to the vehicle's cigarette lighter for the antenna to be operational.
Note: Without the antenna, TMC messages may not be received when the device is operating on battery power only.
Navigon’s customer support webpage also states “NAVIGON continues to support Fresh Maps and Traffic* services. * The service is only available where Total Traffic Network RDS-TMC coverage exists. Coverage areas can expand or change without notice. Service is available for the life of the product as long as coverage exists.”
You can fill out a form at the last link below to get Navigon to help with your problem. Do not be surprised that you are in a metropolitan area without TMC traffic coverage.
