Raymarine E120 – The Outstandingly Effective Multi-function Display
The Raymarine E120 is a beautiful device that accomplishes its tasks better than others of its type, and is definitely one of the most flexible and improved MFDs in the business to this day. Whether you're a hardcore veteran mariner, or a landlubber just getting a feel for the sea, the Raymarine E120 will provide for all your navigation needs during your ocean explorations – and more!
If you're worried that you won't be able to see the screen in tropical sunlight, then don't be, because the Raymarine uses special Ultra-Bright Sunlight Viewable display technology to guarantee that the display will always be easily visible and viewable. The Raymarine E120 uses a wide angle screen and a bright backlighting in order to create a view with excellent detail and unmatched video quality.
Its many features are learnable and usable. For example, by simply adding a Raystar GPS Sensor and Navionics Platinum Chart Cartridge to your Raymarine E120 display, you can transform it into the ultimate electronic marine gps chartplotter. These gps chartplotters include countless features such as positional chart display, Relative, True Motion and Autozoom, with each being specifically designed to help you track your position on the high seas. It's absolutely a superior advancement. Nevertheless, the Raymarine E120 has many other impressive services besides this one.
Similarly, the HD Digital Fishfinder can also work wonders by just connecting the DSM300 Digital Sonar Module to your E-Series display. The digital fishfinder has an awesome high resolution display, zoom magnification, and it can scan up to an impressive maximum depth of 5000 ft. You can determine the location of fish and bottom structure with no effort at all, thanks to the E120's unique digital sonar technology. It's a very beneficial device for any seafarer.
Another useful function is the E120 Radar. Pick the Raymarine radome or open array that matches your necessity and join it with the display without a hitch. Now you can sail carefully and surely through fog, rain, and darkness. Features for the E120 radar include: Auto GST™ automatic control of gain, sea clutter and tune, radar waypoint navigation and multiple waypoint overlay, 1/8th to 72 nautical mile maximum range (performance limited by scanner type and position), Head Up, Course Up and North Up orientation, and Relative or True motion modes. You really need to have the E120 Radar on your ship if you wish to avoid a potential wreck.
The Raymarine E120 chartplotter's display interface can be customized to your exact liking, and most of the applications and functions are viewed in "Pages." Every page can be adjusted with a separate window style or full screen applications for every navigation scenario.
Without any customization, the E120 works as a stand-alone navigation display. But if you want it to, it can be joined with other displays in the Raymarine E Series as part of a SeaTalkhs network, which will let you see the same functions on every display currently connected to the network. The E120 also supports certain protocols such as the SeaTalk and SeaTalk2/SeaTalkNG, which allow for easy integration with Raymarine instruments and autopilots. And last but not least, the E120's abilities are boosted even higher with NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 support, which allows for effortless integration with third party electronics.
A new feature to the E-Series is Video Integration, which offers an adaptable selection of video input and output connections, so that you can view your data anywhere, anytime. The E120 has additional capabilities which allow you to do anything from monitor onboard cameras, to view your information on a wide screen TV or PC monitor. An additional remote control keyboard is also available, so you can control the E120 display from a monitor at a different location. Full-screen or windowed modes can both be selected as view type for the video input, and you can also customize the intervals between each. This is an exciting new feature that is exclusive to the E-Series.
Built on a rugged aluminum chassis and waterproof to CFR46 standards, the E120 includes both a convenient trunion mounting bracket as well as a low-profile flush mounting kit for a clean, unobtrusive helm. But wait… there's more! The Raymarine E120 kit conveniently contains all the manuals, reference guides, and cords and cables that you'll need to get everything up and running properly. If you need anything to set up the devices, it's all here, the whole shebang.
