Features of Magellan Maestro 4700
The Magellan Maestro 4700 is a Global Positioning System (GPS), a navigation device which is primarily used when using a vehicle. The Magellan Maestro 4700 comes attached with one mounting cradle which can be clipped on to the vehicle's dashboard or even windshield. It is important to ensure that the driver's view is not blocked when the Magellan Maestro 4700 is being mounted. It should also be easily accessible by the driver who will need to refer to the monitor when driving. There are some laws in certain jurisdictions around the world governing the mounting of these GPS devices to the windshield of vehicles. Therefore, it may be best to refer to the laws in the city you are residing in. If you are mounting the device on the dashboard, then use an adhesive tape so that the device will not move out of place.
The Magellan Maestro 4700 has a 4.7-inch touch screen in colour which comes with a cashing that is 3.45 inch high, 5.2 inch wide and 0.6 inch thick. This case which protects the GPS device is made out of good quality plastic and is silver and black. There is an antenna which is fitted into the device. Nonetheless, you would be able to fix an external antenna on the device as well. The Maestro 4700 comes with a li-ion rechargeable battery which can offer almost 3 hours of non-stop power after each full charge. Along with the GPS device comes an in-car power and AC adaptor. The device offers accurate directions for distances up to 15 feet. Magellan Maestro 4700 has a OneTouch Favourites option which allows users to bookmark their favourite searches and destinations so that users can access them easily. There is also an in-built a guidebook which provides information on entertainment avenues, hotels and restaurants around US and in Canada.
There is also information on places of interest, along with essential information like ATM locations, petrol stations and so on. This device also allows drivers to find out exits for highways beforehand to give them ample time to exit. There is voice capability which allows drivers to speak commands into the system and also has voice prompts for street names and navigation. There is a feature in Maestro 4700 which also lets drivers know the lane on the highway they should be in before a turn is required. The device also allows drivers to create multi-destination routing.
