Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida - Cover Florida Plans provides cost-effective plans for people between the ages of 19 and 64 who been without health care insurance for at least six months. It is also available for those who have recently become unemployed. In order to qualify, the person must not qualify for public health insurance such as Medicaid or Medicare. If you have a pre-existing condition, the company cannot deny you enrollment in one of these plans. However, the company can exclude coverage for treatment of the pre-existing condition for up to a year. Rates for these health plans vary based on the age and gender of the applicant as well as the benefit options you select.
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida - Cover Florida Plans provides multiple options based on what the customer desires. One of the options available is the preventive health plan. This provides basic coverage for doctors visits and prescription medication related to preventive health maintenance. Screening tests are available at a reduced cost as well. These include mammograms, osteoporosis screening, as well as cervical cancer, prostate, and colorectal screening. Some costs for durable medical equipment and behavioral health are included as well. What this coverage does not handle is emergency care services.
