The Romance Of The Red Sea
Thoughts of the Red Sea region in Egypt often conjure up images of crimson clad mountains, endless drifting sands, veil clad sheiks and the melodic call to prayer dancing through the air. Close your eyes and you're almost there.
Luxury hotels entice honeymooners and young lovers back year after year to their sumptuous surroundings and exotic locations.
Whether it's up and coming Taba Heights, charming Sharm el Sheikh, heavenly Hurghada or magical Marsa Alam, there has to be a Red Sea destination with your name on it.
Many tourists come here for the superb dive and snorkelling facilities and the opportunity to explore this fascinating underwater world together. Just grab a snorkel each, head off along one of the wooden jetties stretching lazily out to sea and step off the end. The waters are shallow for a long way out but even close to shore you will be amazed by the colourful fish that dance artfully between your toes. Some of the better sites are accessible only by a short boat ride, you can still just snorkel or be a little more adventurous and scuba dive a little deeper. PADI courses are readily available and there are excursions for every age and level of confidence. Picture yourself in the perfect blue surroundings with colourful coral spreading out before you and the rainbow coloured marine life inquisitively swimming by. The rest of the world could have disappeared as you enjoy the total seclusion of life beneath the stunning Red Sea waters.
On an evening, the most romantic excursion you can do is the Star Gazing. A coach will take you so far out into the desert, and then you cover the rest on foot. If you are prepared you will have packed a small torch; however it's just as much fun trying to find your way, with a guide, in the pitch black to the giant telescopes. Astrologists will point out a couple of constellations and even maybe a distant planet or two. Then lie on blankets and gaze into the total darkness at the millions of tiny stars glistening overhead, you'll be lost in the sheer beauty and romance of it all and don't forget to make a wish as the shooting stars fly like bows from cupid's arrow overhead.
So prepare for Valentine's Day now and think about cheap Red Sea holidays for your loved one this year, you'll be blown away by the sheer beauty and romance of it all.
